Ain't no debate to be had about that subject, all that right there is is fightin' words! I come from a long line of Chevrolet history...I was conceived in the back seat of a 57 Chevy...debate over! lol, lol, lol....

I started the thread and didn't intend for it to get religeous...it's just good ol' common sense in my opinion to not build a freakin' mosque within ear shot of where the Twin Towers ONCE stood...religeous or not, that's just a HUGE slap in the face to the survivors of the attack and the loved one's of those who didn't survive the attack. All most any of you all would have to do is look back on that day and remember how most people in this country felt at the time, remember the news papers printing up American Flags for circulation the following day? That was their effort to make sure everyone had a flag to wave, I put my paper flag in the back of my truck window. It stayed there until it was nothing more than a tannish/brownish piece of paper. America sure did come together as one there for awhile, I wish we had that kind of team spirit today. It seems to me we're getting more divided now than we ever have been. I wonder if anyone would have approved of building this Mosque within one week after the attacks? Maybe (cause there's a lot of whack jobs running around), maybe not (most likely not). So what has changed since that day?

So why the division of people for and against, religeous or not? The most religeous person I know is my mom...lots of days I'll go to mom and dad's house, walk in the front door, and there mom is, sitting on the couch with her bible in her lap, she has literally worn her bible out over the years...the spine is beginning to become unglued, the edges of the pages are dingy yellow from where her fingers have flipped through them time and time again...and even though she knows right from wrong...she too is having a hard time accepting the possible building of this mosque.

In her own words: "Something's not right".

I find it interesting to see the Pledge of Allegiance cited in what's turned into a religious thread. I wonder if those who mention it remember that when it was written, the phrase "under God" was not part of it? FDR, the author of the New Deal, that president that so may RIGHTISTS (sorry George, couldn't resist ) love to hate, inserted it.

Well, then FDR did at least something RIGHT.
