    a man sure would need a steel leader here for sure. and I been reading where this group of kayak fishermen, up near alaska have been catching these things from kayaks. don't think I want any part of that kind of fishing.http://newstrain.com/2007/10/1.....aco-shark/ check this out. little jaws junior.

    The line from Jaws - "I think we need a bigger boat" comes to mind about catching something like that from a Yak! Whatever they caught it from - bet it put up a fight.

    I hear what your saying, about the top of the food chain. and
    I don't think thay caught that one from a yak, but I was reading were some yak fishermen was catching some big shark, up around alaska.

    This shark was caught in Nova Scotia. It has been around the internet for a while now:

    thats the same picture for sure, and I don't believe either story. but it's a big fish anyway. one says it weighed 800 lb, the other says 1000 plus and to bring this thing to the surface with a striper rig. they may be telling the truth, but I find it hard to believe. and I can't in no way believe it towed a 40 foot boat at all, unless for an hour. it's good to see the photo anyway, lets a guy know whats in the depths of the ocean.

    Yeah, the story is more than likely bogus, but look up the phone number on the crane in the pic and see where it was from. Big fish with an even bigger tale.
