Several years ago, my fishing partner and I were on the Saganaw River at Bay City, Michigan. He made a real long, high cast towards the bank and a great big Herron came out of nowhere and grabbed his crankbait. He was using heavy line and managed to reel it in to the bow of the boat where I netted it. Needless to say that bird was not happy but my friend finally got the hooks out of its beek and we let it go. Funny now but it wasn't funny when it was happening.

The only surprising thing is that stuff like that doesn't happem more often.
