    Re: Turttle creek res. ???

Great catfish and carp lake. I fished a 19 boat tx there this year. Not one bass caught. You would think out of 38 people someone would of got lucky. Don't waste your time bass fishing there. If you want a warm water lake go to newton.

No bass caught. It's a shame too. I've got some good memories of that place with my dad and grandpa. Dunno about the panfish but catching catfish is easy. They hit anything from 10" worms to traps to cranks. I caught 3 that day about 5# each. There are pictures of huge cats that cover the top of picnic tables. They run a lot of cat tx's out of there now. My buddy fished a tx there with LJP there last year or the year before and they had the same outcome.

Sad to here about that place. I also have alot of memories catching big bass on rattletraps and top water. Fished several bass tournys and always went soon as duck season was over. That was back in the late 80's and early 90"s.

Yeah. Everyone says newton is just as good but it's not. I sure do miss tc and Gibson. Maybe we'll get lucky and they will reopen Gibson.

What happened to Turtle Creek? Did they quit stocking it? Too many bass tournaments?

Also, does the DNR currently control the fishing program in this lake? Thanks for any information you can offer.

Several years ago they killed all the weeds, lilypads , and any other vegatation. The bass fishing started down hill, to where it is nonexistent now.
