Nolin or Green River

Finally have a chance to get a little camping in for a few days and am thinking either Nolin or Green River for some fishing. Anybody have any idea on which is doing a little better for some bass fishing?
Never have been to Nolin, been to Green a couple of times but it's been a couple of years.

I personally prefer Nolin... It seems to me pleasure boater traffic is worse on Green than any other lake in KY besides Cumberland... but thats jut my $.02

walkeraviator, not to argue, but I have to disagree. I have a place on Nolin and am there nearly every weekend all summer long. When I'm not, at usually at Green on my parents houseboat. I love Nolin, but comparably speaking, there's far less "room to run" on Nolin due to it's smaller size (5700 vs 8800 acres), equal proximity to Louisville, and the sheer # of lake properties/docks allowed on it. Green is a houseboat/camping lake (no lakefront property/access, versus Nolin which has thousands of individual dock owners). There's a lot of places on both though were you can avoid the pleasure boat traffic and still wet a line. This is just my $0.01 ;-)

About a month ago, we saw a jump that lasted 30 minutes and spread from right in front of Moutridier Marina and nearly to the other side of the main lake...probably 3-4 acres wide with several different pods of fish strung together. We caught 25 Whites/Ky's and probably lost/missed another 25 in those 30 minutes. It don't get much better than that!

Been hearing a lot about the jumps at Nolin, even drove down with a buddy last Sunday to try our luck. Found out those jumps happen only at sun up and sundown or overcast conditions. We got there about 1 hr after sun up and missed out. My question is; how big are the white bass and Ky bass in the jumps?

You are right...sunup and sundown are the hot times for the jumps. I prefer sunup myself...I think the calm waters in the morning really allow the bass to ball up the bait nicely IMHO. Morning is when I have seen the most jumps as well. The whities we have caughten in the jumps have all been nice, around 13+"....the KYs range from tiny to 2-3lbs....the LMs can be really nice, caught one last trip that went over 5lbs. Lots of fun! I'll be there early tomorrow am!

Well....back from Nolin...what a weird morning...didn't see one single jump. Got to the lake @ 0600 and it was COLD! Water at 81.5 @ dam. I about froze my rearend off running to my spot, seeing as I was dressed in shorts and a t-shirt . Looked all over for jumps and couldn't find ANY! First time this summer I have gone to Nolin and not found jumps??? Gave up on the jumps and pounded the banks with t-rigged worms and caught several, only 2 would have kept. Called it quits around 1200. I hope this isn't a sign to come....I want my jumps back!

I went to Nolin primarily based off of this thread and found the same thing. I went from wax to rock creek to bacon creek then back to dog creek and barely saw three I would consider "jumps". Couldn't get near em to cast. They would come up, crash the Shad 15 seconds and disappear again. Tried the same thing. Watermellon power worm on a Carolina and yeilded only three all about 16 inches.
