References to Obama and payback to left wing is just obsurd. These issues have been being studied for 10+ years. Lead contamination has been known to cause a multitude of problems in both humans and wildlfe since the 1930s. Developmental delays in children, nurological disorders. Believe it or not lead does contaminate water. My well is no longer drinkable.
So what did that rant have to do with fishing tackle? Have you been dropping sinkers or lead shot down your well?

Lead is inert in the environment as we use it in tackle and lead shot. When ingested it reacts with acids in the stomach and dissolves to a small enough size to become soluable in the blood. That is when you have problems. Likewise lead vapor from leaded gasolines is of a small enough molecular size that is able to pass through the cellular membrane in the lungs.

Buy the hyped up, no-science backed, claims that the gov and anti-hunting/anti-fishing bunny huggers are pushing. Would we all be "safer" if lead ws banned? Sure. Same thing with mercury, arsenic, petroleum products, and coal. Can we afford to live as we do without them? I doubt it.
