Anyone been to Markland Dam Lately?

Looking at heading to Markland to get in on the jumps. I know the water level and discharge are about right but is there a bunch of bait there yet? Are there any jumps going on, I was looking at going on Friday since it should be cloudy and a 40% chance of rain.

I have not been but I have a friend that goes on Sundays and he said lately it has been not good for him. He is throwing his surf rod with the normal lures, Launchers, Spooks, Spoons and Jigs. He was there last Sun and fished early morning till about ten and had a gar and that was it. He said he was seeing the bait in there though. I have been fishing out of my boat below Meldahl with the same results, either catching nothing or catching gar. Hope this could help any, there is a local bait shop down there on ky side 42 called sissys give them a call they maybe able to give better info than me.
