I do pretty good on them when the water cools down here on Cumberland and real good in the spring when water is still cold. I like to throw them across points with asteady retrieve not to fast Don

I do best in the Spring and Fall with these baits. I will toss them around wood and drop it as it comes over or by it. Caught all of my bigger chatterbait fish doing it this way.
Shallow grass is my favorite place to toss it and I love to burn it right under the surface in the Spring so I can see the Bass roll on it.
Its great around docks cause its so compact you can pitch it like a jig for pin point accuracy when your really working the posts and cross beams.
My favorite is the Original Chatterbait 3/8oz in White. Black/Blue is my second color.
Usually have one tied on no matter what time of year....just in case.![]()
When the water gets a cool in mid-late fall I catch fish with them popping or ripping them off the bottom and swimming them slowly on the fall, but you can catch fish with them just swimming them back like a spinnerbait too. I like the 3/8 oz in Chart/White and Black/Blue, sometimes I use Spike-It on the trailers. Can't beat the Zman imo. Also like throwing them on cool spring/fall nights, especially around wood like DJD suggested. Don't give up on them man, it took me awhile to get confident with them too.
cool- ill have to pull these out of my bag more often then.
All I can say is take a white one to Guntersville in the spring.. You wont be disappointed.![]()
