I've never been this time of year.........I'm taking my wife down fri/sun....we rented a cabin and I'm REALLY looking forward to it.

Any help on the fishing this time of year would be great.

I dont know a whole lot about it. Try throwing a dark colored 3/8oz jig on 12-15lb fluorocarbon line. If you put it in enough places you'll get bit somewhere.. To me being on Dale hollow is like being a hungry cow in a field full of green grass. Night or Day theres only one option...a JIG

Full moon will be Sept 23. The crayfish will be spawning on the rocky points and similar areas around this time. My bet is they are still in the deeper grass beds. I would throw a 3/8 oz Avacado and Orange Punisher Jig with a Green Pumpkins Paca chunk in the grass and around the highway between the grass and rocks. Also throw a 1 oz Bubblegum Big Single Colorado Bladed Spinnerbait along the edges of the grass on the flats between the grass and rock. Drag the spinnerbait on the bottom and HOLD ON.

If you dont mind, what end of the lake did you fish?. What type of banks, how deep. Did you fish day or night? Did you rig them with a split shot? I am going down next weekend to fish a couple of days. thanks for the help.

small splitshot, 6 lb test flouro, #4 matzuo hook. we pretty much caught all of our fish on the points in the 4-15 ft range, wish i could narrow it down more but the fish kind of seemed to be anywhere they wanted to be....the only thing consistent was a good steep rocky point. good luck

Good luck to all, you will need it on dale. Just my opinion but it does not seem to be the lake it used to be for fishing. BUT DON`T GET ME WRONG I WILL STILL BE FISHING IT BUT NOT HAS MUCH BECAUSE JUST FOR ONE REASON IS I LOVE DALE HOLLOW LAKE.
