Thanks for the update. It seems as if the bigger fish at Barren stay deep a lot longer than surrounding lakes. However, it shouldn't be long before they start moving up.

Hit up Barren wednesday with Brinksguy(Andrew). Put in at Beaver creek then proceed up Skaggs Creek to the old destroyed bridge and there were balls of shad EVERYWHERE, with an occasion bust on the surface, but got zilch on topwater. Andrew hooked a couple real small ones on a gold lipless crank. I pitched a black blue jig around a dock and never got a hit til i was swimmin it back. Boated a dink there. Definietly seemd as if they were 100% targeting shad...we caught a LOT of dinks on cranks...
Only fish i caught that would have kept was on a Series 5 sexy shad crank...secondary point in a cove. It seems he may have been suspended as he hit it half way back to the boat and nowhere near the bottom.
Water was very stained in the creeks, but pretty clear on the main lake, water temps were 75ish in the morning, but shot up over 80 in the 93degree heat of the day. I dont think I ever saw a single cloud.
And I wanna thank the guy at the Ramp who was nice enough to let us borrow a jumper cable as the starting battery wouldnt crank the motor over. Tested fine in the parking lot... started the motor once... cold natured motor died... then the battery wouldnt do the work...
