    Re: Louisville Attractions?

Yeah there are some great places to eat. A couple that haven't been mentioned are: Safier's, on 4th St just up from the Palace. One of the owners is Greek, the other Hindi, and their menu is kind of a cross. Real good food and not expensive. My vegetarian friends say theirs is the best falafel in town. And I think Sante Fe Grill, across from Cardinal Stadium, is some of the best Mexican food in town, and probably the cheapest. No alcohol at either place, but Sante Fe's does sell "Mexican Coke," which is formulated a little different than the Coke you usually get in the States. And if you're going there, take cash. They don't take no stinkin' plastic!

All that cool stuff to do...and they had to go and ruin it by making it the home of the Cardinals. Sheesh!

I'm actually quite a fan of going to the Indiana side of the river and eating over there at Kingfish or Buckhead Mountain Grille...good food, and if the weather is nice you can sit out back and get a nice skyline view of Louisville across the river.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned taking a ride on the Belle of Louisville!

Ditto on most of teh food selections on the list above... to it I add

Italian... Rocky's or La Gallo Rosa (Bradstown Rd area)
Hibachi.. Blue Sake or Kanzai (which is actually in IN by BPS)
Moderate Priced stuff... KT's and get teh Hot Brown
J.Alexanders is nowhere near as good as it used to be
Ditto's is awesome and so is Morris Deli

Best Breakfast in Town is at Lynns Paradise Cafe (as seen on The Food Network's Throwdown w/ Bobby Flay), but it is a little pricey...

and in a month or so Cherokee Park lake and Tom Wallace Lake will be stocked with raindows... catch em on corn...

Several other lakes will be stocked as well. I'm looking forward to that, too!

My favorite Italian is the Come Back Inn on St. Catherine. The name doesn't sound Italian, but the food is awesome!

Ok boys if I come down next May for Thunder and the Kentucky Derby who is going to take me out for Chinese and Italian food? My 2 favourites. Since I am Irish I love the sound of those Irish bars downtown. Sounds like fun!

I can vouch for the food there too...I kind of got stuck in a rut and kept ordering the same thing every time I went, Italian Crab Cakes and a House Salad with house specialty Blue Cheese Dressing...whew!! The actual bar itself at the St Catherine location is older than the hills, very unique, nice wood and mirrors, lots of character.

Toad - If you like Italian at a good price, another place you might want to try is a place called Amicci's over on Ormsby...it's got a little more bang for the buck, just in case if you want to impress your date. The last time I went there I saw Paul Hornung and his crew. Believe me...if I went there it probably don't cost much

I've been trying to go to all the best restaurants in Louisville and you guys gave some good spots to try. So far the top 3 that I've been to have been Ruths Chris, Jack Binions, at the boat, and Jeff Ruby's. Jack Frye's is up there too but you must have cash. Me and the Missus like to live it up once and awhile and splurge.

    I like DelFrisco's steaks better.

As for activities, how about belly dancers on Frankfort Ave tonight?
