    Sympson

Fishing wise it was pretty good, I boated prob 40+ bass (8" -16") and 1 smaller hybrid (btw~ yes they are called hybrid not hybred) 8". I have recently seen some big hogz but no hookups on them. The other guys caught 2 bigger hybrids (around 18") they said and were trolling for bass but caught some big catfish on the troll. Coming into the dock with my big light on I pushed some cats that prob were 15-20 lbs outta the way and they were in about 10" of water to the left of the dock.

Hit points and rocky edges with cranks and dropoffs with a senko work rigged on a 1/16oz weighted jerk bait hook, those produced all afternoon.

Pic of dock condition (and my goofy boat)

I was catching fish so fast that i stuck my iphone on video and propped it up again fish finder and got a few fish on cam.
Here is one that is typical me! You have to download it tho i guess
    video

First off it's a bitch to get in/out. There was another couple of guys going out when I was (only 2 of us on lake) and they got in ok but you got to trolling motor out. I came back in at dark and they were on ramp and stuck, as the concrete goes down it is missing some big chucks out of the sides and one wheel of the trailer was stuck in one. To make a long story short the ramp ends and there is about a 8" dropoff and you need to drop your trailer over the edge to get boat on trailer and power up over the dropoff to get out. He had a 4x2 and eventually had to have his buddy pull it out with a 4x4. When I put in my boat wasn't even in the water I just pushed it off trailer and coming in I got right up on edge of dropoff and wenched it up. I got my goofy lil boat just for this reason

I don't see why they are not pumping more water from the river into it. That dock looks bad as heck.....dunno if I want to try putting in when it's that's bad.

You must be pretty good to catch that many out of it b/c I haven't had any luck. Might take my bowfishing rig along if those cats are that shallow.

I didn't make it out today.....plan on at least looking at it tomorrow. I'll be by myself so I really don't want any issues with putting in/taking out.

I'm not very good with a bass rig so it's not me thats for sure!

I might head out for a few hrs tonight and maybe tomorrow afternoon. I live right down the street so its an easy drive. If you go let me know when and I can try and come out then as well in case you need help getting in or out.

My boat is small and light enough that i can manage ok but its a tough put in.

there isn't anymore to be pumping from the river,it is not even running down here below it.
for no more rain than there has been i am really surprised there is still water at the ramp.wish they would build a dam here where the beech and rolling fork meet.make my fishing good down here again, since taylorsville was built and the drastic pumping to keep up with water demand there is only water here during floods anymore.

didn't they just dredge the boat ramp like 2 yrs ago?....maybe even one year ago? I can't believe it's still that shallow. Will a flat-bottom 1860 make it in and out?

went out tonight and it was tough going but switched from cranks to a senko and managed a few between 12-15.

There is enough water to get out to lake the trick is how to get boat into water and out. If you have a normal sized trailer you go go right down THE MIDDLE of the ramp and let trailer wheels go over the edge of the concrete and there is about a 6" - 8" drop to the bottom but a reg sized tires should be able to come over it. The guys I helped the night before tried an edge and got mad stuck and i told them to get boat off and do what i just said and it popped right out. My lil boats trailer will even do it but I just backup to edge and push boat off even though its not in water yet then getting out i do the same but just hook wench up and pull it up. Did that tonight and it was easy as could be.

Once again that "canal" going out is filled with shad and cats.

with all the run off it don't take long to fill in,i think it has been longer than that, usually it dries up all the way to the powerlines other than a little ditch, unless they were to dig it out to the turn dredging the ramp is a waste of time.if we don't get a substantial rain about 3 weeks and you'll haver to drag a boat to get in.

might be cheaper to just make a new dock down on the curve with a new pull off.

Personally, I like it like this.. almost guarantees me the whole lake to myself
