    Cumberland

Anybody fished her in the last several days, if so, how are things? Water temps, fish activity ect??? Might try to sneak off..... and man it's been a long time since I've had the boat out, too much home work and other stuff going on. Don't want your hidden Tournament secrets, lol, just some general info would be great, thanks in advance.

You're always the one who seems to have the reports. Have your sources gone tight-lipped?

    Re: Cumberland

Been out a couple of times lately chasing KY Spots. Some luck up in the creeks around structure, rock or wood while casting a shad rap, rapala minnow or small 3 inch jerkbait. All in shad color/pattern silver/black/white. Nothing large, but fun to catch something.

Have been finding schools of shad near the back of the creeks, as well as some stripers (small, 24 inch size) feeding on them. If you go and get surrounded by a school of jumping stripers, toss them a silver buddy!

Didn't take notice of water temperature, but did think the water was clearer then I have seen in several months.

    Good luck and enjoy.

Naw, I checked with a few of my Peeps and get some conflicting info and some of it a little outdated. Just wanted to see if any of our members had been out the last couple of days or so.

Thanks Gary, sounds real typical for this time of year. Did you see any large striper jumps? Had a few guys tell me they are starting to become fairly regular at daybreak in a choice few spots and some of the jumps lasting quite awhile. Mostly just barely keeper size fish with a few with shoulders mixed in...

Jumps I saw were small and they only stayed up for a minute or so. But they would come up about every 15 minutes. Best time seemed to be from daybreak till about 7:30-8:00am. Again, these were small schools in coves off the back of the creeks.

Thanks Gary. The better stripers should still be in transition out towards the mouths of the creeks or slightly back from the mouth. Water temps still aren't to their liking way back in the heads just yet. Some of those juvenile fish will venture back but the better fish probably aren't back there yet.

Mark check out Lance and Durham's reports on this site. That will get you in the ballpark of what is going on. If you are around Grider stop by and say Hi!

I'm always around Grider Dave. I hung out there awhile back and found your boat. I ate my sandwich and rested awhile to see if you would come down. I was by myself and didn't want to walk all the way up that hill and leave my stuff unattended. I'll look for ya again this time. I asked a guy collecting garbage out of the cans was that Lund Dave Cress's boat and he said Yea I think so. It was your boat I'm sure of it, maybe I'll catch this time.

BTW, I read Sasser's report I always do, sometimes I call Lance and talk to him about what's going on. The other report I don't always pay as much attention to.

Thanks for the info from all. Read the guide reports and from what they said it sounded like everywhee you turn there were massive jumps going on.

So right now, to fish jumps look to the back of the creeks, look for the shad schools there. Right?

Has anbody seen any jumps out on main lake? I might be down Sunday, or Monday or Tuesday and can't decide if ramping in at the ramp to look for jumps in main lake and back up passed Grider, and or in Beaverr/Otter is best

    or

If I'd be better off going in at Jamestown, and trying Wolfe, Lilly, Caney Greasy, Pumpkin area.

    Re: Cumberland

Lots of choices. Last week and the week before I saw jumps in the main lake from Rowena up toward Jamestown. I did not fish any of them but from what I have been hearing they are smaller fish, some keepers in there though. Not sure if they are jumpin very far up the creeks but probably some in the lower 1/3 of the creeks--that is sort of speculation.
