Fished the big pond Saturday and the bite for me was on the slow side even though I did get a 20" smallie and shook of a LM at the boat that size or a bit better both stuck later in the day after the wind kicked up. I mostly fished shallow and the fish just weren't up shallow in any kind of numbers. It appeared to me that although there were a lot of shad in the bays they were backed out in 6 to 8 feet of water and I noted that the lake dropped 4" Saturday so between the drop and front it must have pulled them out. The lakes are approaching winter pool early this year I guess due to the lack of rain. They sure aren't pulling them much...
