For a record breaking summer of heat I think the corp did a good job manageing the water flow on the cumberland river. No opion of the lake. Not a lot of low flow water during the heat and warmest I saw water was 61 once one the river. The low flow is back and I know a lot of you couldn't be happier. Water at 62 degree tollerable yet far better than last years 68 that it stayed at for so long. The shocking results posted this spring were fairly accuraiit as I found my numbers down from previous years. Kinda reminds me of the 90's when many a time I'd make the trip only to catch 2 trout. Still fishing the same tactics today as I did then. As they say "the fish have to win somtimes". I managed some good catches this summer, think I landed 3 or 4 over 20 (relaesed them all) and the slots are still plentiful. The big ones are still out there just can't see them as we use to with the crystal clear waters. Good luck to you wade fishermen with the low flow. Just thought I'd spin the yarn on my thoughts of that wonderful river as i wait for the high flow to come back.
