Fished for a couple of hours saturday morning and caught around 7 and 3 were keepers.
The shad have definatly moved shallow in the coves. Never in my life have I seen so many. The cove looked like a blanket of shad 3" under the water.
I will be at Tville this Friday to catch bait. Any particular area you're seeing most of the bait? Van Buren, Possum Ridge,etc...???? Threadfin or Gizzard? Any size?
what was the water temperature and clarity? Were they hitting surface baits?
Little Beech creek,in the back,is full of shad.Like shockingly full. The shad on the main lake across from Settlers Trace did seem bigger though.I really have never seen anything like it.
Hey,are you freezing those shad?I'd love to know the best way.BTW they are Gizzard Shad.
Check out the tournament board for T-ville this sunday.

couldn't tell on the surface bite, we crappie fished for the first few hours. The coves i saw the shad in were near possum ridge. All different size shad but seemed mainly in the 4-5" range. Water temp started at 65 and rose to about 67 by 2pm. Water was a little dingy. Caught most of the bass right on the bank near possum ridge, they were hanging right on the rip rap. Rattle trap chrome with black back. Going back wendsday morning if i don't have to work, and try a buzzbait first thing in the morning.
Gizzards are what I want. Won't be freezing them. I have a 30 gal bait tank and want 4 or 5 doz on my way down to Cland. Too much work trying to get gizzards in the creeks at Cland. Any advice on that issue would be appreciated! I've actually saved alot of time by getting my bait at Tville in the past. Thx for the input. I'll try main lake, possibly Possum Ridge or Beech Creek.
Plenty of shad at the 248 bridge.
Fish still hittin on the lake? What are they hittin on? Surface, flukes, cranks, jigs?
