My 2 have always known if they dont do what I say or if they are bad behind my back ( school or wherever ) there are concequinces. Most people dont follow through with a punishment and thats where the problem is imo. Kids need structure and guidance, not left alone with a television or playstation to keep them happy all the time. My kids have those things but are limited as to how much they get enertained by them. Im not sure what the I/Q around this house is but the one thing I know is when my wife or I tell our kids to do something it gets done without me having to take a belt to them! One more thing, if you should ever talk to my kids you will be told yes or no sir or maam when they answer you and they will hold a door open for anyone, burns my butt when they hold a door and the person doesnt say thank you and they get that alot, believe me.

thats awesome, and if i saw someone do that to a kid, they would get an earful, maybe even a fist. the part you said about tv and playstation is HUGE. not giving kids free range on such things and using them as reinforcers can help dramatically...

Would that be so difficult for you to grasp that you could be wrong about something or do you always have to be right. Why are you saying we are all in need of education. Why dont you tell us what your education level is and we will tell you ours. I think that matters to you what education a person has. So tell me what degree do you have and what is it in? How about also answering how much work experience do you have. We will chip in what we have if you do. I think you might be thinking we are all a bush of dumb bunnies and you shouldnt assume that. Women in the Muslim countries where 90% of terrorists come from are property to be covered head-to-toe and openly beaten, or even killed. Hard to see how so many people can drum up enough time to hate infidels when they're so busy banging their foreheads off prayer mats several times a day.

After traveling by air for 30 years, the last 10 of them I find myself keeping a close eye on certain fellow passengers. Rather be knifed than crashed into a building full of innocent people, and I don't think I'm alone there.

Should we hate Muslims? No. Should we accept them with open arms? Take a look at their track record and you be the judge.

This is kind of off topic, a while back I was in a hurry leaving wal-mart and an elderly lady was leaving also. I was some 20ft in front of her and she was sloooow! I was at the door and stepped back and waited on her to go through first. She stopped and told me thank you, that hasnt happend in years. Try it sometime, it will make your day!

But more seriously, no I do NOT approve of this. I'm sorry if I didn't make myself clear in my original thread. I thought I was making myself clear that hitting a child, even spanking, is completely wrong and in our society spanking is seen as ok. It is disgusting, yet most individuals do it. Don't bash an entire religion because of a ruling that has similarities with our OWN culture. Now, I would hope that we all share in the fact that beating a woman is wrong, and deserves to have a baseball bat beaten through his skull.

Now I don't care about whether you are being PC or not. You don't think I have that same hatred for those individuals responsible for those attacks and future attacks? One of my good friends throughout my childhood moved to the outskirts of the city and his father was killed in the towers, so don't try and preach me about hatred about those events and all events that have followed. But I am smart enough to realize that it is not the doing of the vast majority of that religion. Like I said, EDUCATE yourself. It wasn't that long ago when we as a nation did not treat our most vulnerable members very well. We changed and so can they.

Back to the topic more specifically...remind me on my next vacation planning to not go to the UAE..didn't they imprison a couple for kissing in public? I'm glad we have some resemblence of separation between faith and government.

The problem is this Steve.....the UAE is one of the most MODERATE Islamic countries in the world. If one of the MOST moderate can have their "Supreme Court" rule like this...then YES, I CAN and will JUDGE the ENTIRE MUSLIM FAITH based on this ruling.........they are all CRAZY RADICAL FREAKS. There gubment sanctions this, their Imams sanction this, their Supreme Court sanctions this.

Until the WEST is willing to deal with this REALISTICALLY........we will continue to see an erosion of western values, and an inclusion of Muslim values.

Personally, if it were up to me, I'd KILL every last RADICAL MUSLIM on the face of the earth.........Starting in our university system.....

No my dear friend I was not offended infact I take it as a great compliment. Its great when we find others who we think the same as we do. We would have tons to discuss. Heck no I didnt take it as fresh as all. Remember I worked in a prison for 7 years with mostly men and I have heard everything. You were very nice and it made me smile when you said it. I had to take my mother out to run errands and supper so I didnt have time to respond. Just got home and reading it now. Dont forget chilled Molson Canadian, eh?
