Went to Lake Waveland on Wednesday, and was told that the lake will be closed on November 4th for a shad kill operation from the IDNR known as a selective.
A selective is a chemical kill with roetone at a concentration level that will kill shad, and hopefully few other fish.
Waveland is a great lake with great bass, crappie, and catfish, so I hope they are successful in keeping the shad in check.
Hope to see a survey report next year, to see if Waveland can be maintained.
