Fresh water eels?

I know this is an old thread, but I just joined looking for more information. I caught an eel about 2 weeks ago, off the boat ramp on Clarks River in Paducah. none of my local buddies that fish know anything about it, so I was just looking for information.

Never caught an eel but have seen one snake head that will give you the same squeeling reaction. Those things are NASTY!

They're not uncommon close to the Misterslippery River. Several of the guys on the roughfish board have posted reports of eels in Minnesota over the last year.
