As far a Germany is concerned I am just saying that you do not have to export jobs, put 25% of your population into poverty or allow unrestricted environmental damage to have a healthy economy.
Yes I support Unions. Unions bilt the middle class. Prior to unions there was no overtime, wages were stagnent and child laobor laws were nonexistant. So even if you are not a union member, chances are the compesation and benifits of your job are a result of standards established by unions. Are they perfect? No. Few if anythings are. You do have to give unions the credit they deserve for establishing the middle class.
As far a R. Paul goes, he has made to many extreme statements for me to even consider him. BP oil spill "20 bil. cleanup and economic fund is a shake down of oil companies" civil rights "discrimination laws should not apply to private business". and other statements.
So if discrimination does not apply to private business we would be moving backwards. We will again see people being denied jobs and housing based on religion or race. Think about it. If R. Paul thinks a restaurant owner has the right to not serve a black person, do you think he will hire a black person? What about an apartment? I think we will have to lay new railroad tracks in a lot of areas to clear the bounderies.
If holding BP responsible for environmental cleanup is a shakedown, how committed is he to oil price gouging or environmentally responsible drilling operations?
