The best way to ruin a good fishin' hole is to tell the world.

Probably 4.5 to 5lbers. Thats a good catch anywhere, especially nolin.
Ive caught skinny 21inchers that barley weighed 3 and fat ones close to 7lbs in texas. Get a bekley scale, theyre really accurate. Its nice to know a close weight in case you get your biggest and want to release it.
Some may be reluctant to reveal information because tourney fisherman read this board and use this information to help them and don't want to help them. I don't really care one way or another.... just sayin....
My personal best fish came from Nolin.... 7.8lbs in Conoloway. About 20 years ago on Memorial Day weekend. Nolin can be strange... I've fished dropoffs before and done good and go back the next nite and nothing.
Those fish will be tough to find now they are scattered from what my neighbor at Nolin told me today ,even the crappie are hard to find ...They bite like crazy the first week of the drawdown and then they really scatter , the place you catch them one day me be dry the next day especially when they are pullling a foot a day...Then when it stabilizes it gets good .A good rule of thumb is when its' gun season for deer the Largemouth are stocking up for winter and really feeding .I have done very well by veritcal jiggin blade baits .A buddy of mine makes these baits and I catch lots of sauger on them at McAlpine also the hybrids hit them also .For crappie when Nolin stabilizes , a salt-n-pepper tube with a crappie niblet works very well....just my 2cents
No one is asking for a fishing hole.....its the idea that you can't even say what part of the lake, or what type of lure, or what type of structure....there is A LOT of water out there, help a brother out by narrowing it down some....just my .02
To each their own though, IMO. Oh yeah...and I didn't get to go to Nolin today, daughter woke up sick and the wife had to work....so I'm babysitting today. I'll get up there next week fo sho.
This has nothing to do with you calm waters...just a general thing.

I know nolin was on fire last weekend because i talked to a freind that said he fished from wax bridge to the first island sat. And fished with white buzzbait in the morning and caught 2 over 5 lbs. A few more 2-3 lbs with a total for the day of 30. Man i wish i wouldnt have had to work last weekend because i would have been down there at my lot. He said in early afternoon switched to spinnerbaits and rattletraps and picked right up after the buzzbait bite slowed. I hate to miss weekends like that at nolin. It dont give up big ones like that very often. And to hear of 4 5 lber's in one day is great. Oh well maybe ill be there the next hot day ! Later jc
I used to share advice exclusively on this site until I was burned a few times. Not just by tournament fishermen, but by telling a friend. Then he told his friend who told his other friend who told his mailman who told his uncle. Not really, but you get the idea. Hell, I ran my post count up with advice........
I also noticed a very combative attitude regarding people helping me out once I gave them some information. Today's society expects you to scratch their backs, but none want to scratch yours from time to time. I don't mean to sound selfish -- I'm not a selfish person. I would give you the shirt off my back if you needed it. But to this day, I still won't give out any more of my spots or lures.
Like I said, I don't mean to sound selfish but I got tired of helping and never being helped. For the record, I don't look for handouts. To tell you the truth I don't even frequent this site much anymore for that reason. I really don't mind helping someone who is learning and wants to learn more about the sport. I just don't care giving out spots that I have worked hard to find so someone else can cash a check on it.

Teach each their own....
I guess I don't look at fishing as serious as some...fishing is just fishing to me..it's sole purpose is to be fun. I could understand how people could be that way if it is their livelyhood or something, but for me....it's just recreation.
I'll even tell you what club I hit on #3 @ crosswinds, because I know I'm not going pro...LOL!

Telling the location is one thing. Telling the pattern or bait is totally different. The pattern could be anywhere on the lake.
Shimano4life's post hit home with me and I feel very much like him. I use to give reports on here, and not only did I experience what shimano did but actually had a few guys hint that I was lieing and making the whole thing up.
A few years ago I posted about jacking up a bunch of smallmouth, largemouth and magnum spots on Dale in the jumps the first week in June. I mean I smoked some fish and good ones to. Had one guy come back and tell me, ''Nice story but the bass don't jump like that in June on Dale, with a ha ha thrown in''. Same post stemmed one guy to send me a pm and tell me I was full of it. I haven't really posted a report on here since unless it was farm pond or something just for S&Giggles.
Like you say to each his own and I choose to talk and play nice and I will give reports to some on here via PM, because they appreciate it and report back.
Everyone have a nice day..........
