    pond grinnell

I fish two lakes and both have a brownish color with no grass anywhere. One I know was flodded by the Wabash river many years ago, but the other is far away from a river. I was told the pond grinnell causes this. I have caught grinnell from both bodies of water.
Just curious if anyone has input on this.

i dont know if i quite understand your question...are you asking if a fish, pond grinnell (aka Bowfin), are making these ponds' water color brown and not allowing grass to grow?

I was told that the Grinnell would do this and wanted a second opnion. I maybe should have said pits instead of lakes.
