St. Croix mojo bass rods

Sorry for asking about rods but making Christmas list for the wife. Looking for a good rod for around 160.00 or less and have been looking at the Abu veritias and the st.croix mojo bass rods and the duicket micro guides rods. Do any of you like these rods or have any other suggestions on any rods in this price range. Their was a lot of good reviews on bps for the mojo rods. Any help would be great

I was going to buy a mojo bass, but when I picked it up at BPS, it just didn't feel very good. For the price, it seemed a little heavy and limber. As for the Abu and Duckett, I can't comment, but for your price range you could pick up a Loomis GL2 or (2) All Star rods.

I fish a Mojo and it has bagged some major bass this year. It has bagged at least four 7lbers this year. The rod has a major backbone and is very sensitive!

Mojo's are wayyy to stiff imo. I'm used to using loomis rods so maybe that's why they feel so stiff. I wouldn't buy one at all. Especially for the price.

gotta put my 2cents in. I tried out a mojo along with about a thousand other rods. the rod I was replacing was a G Loomis IMX 6'6" medium fast action rod that I kicked overboard on a canoe fishing trip in Canada.

Sensitivity is my #1 concern. My go-to techniques are weightless senko worms and shakey heads. Unfortunately, you can't compare sensitivity other than to drag the tip of the rod across carpet or floor cracks in a tackle store. Based on this, I was not impressed with the mojo rods at all. I ended up getting a Team American Rodsmiths rod (the one with the golf grip handle -- about $150) from A20, right on the other side of I-65 from BPS. I LOVE this rod. It's got a great warranty, better than Loomis. I spent a weekend at KY Lake fishing a slow bite with Geo. I alternatively used my Team American Rodsmiths rod and his Loomis shakey head rod and I think my rod stacked up very well against his. Considering my rod cost about $100 less than his, I think I made the right choice.

I own five of these rods. I think they are very lightweight and very sensitive. Granted they are no high end rod, but for $100 you can't ask for more. I like the customer service department and the fact that they are based here in the USA. I don't think the Mojo's are made here in the US though. I think that St. Croix moved the plant to Mexico. I also wish they had a lifetime waranty instead of the 5 year. With that being said, I have been very very happy with my Mojo's. If I were buying all new rods in this price range, I would not hesitate to buy more. If you are looking to spend a little more, I would definitly check out the B&R Outlaw rods. I bought a 7" MH and love it. These are great rods. You can pick one up at Backwaters for about $150. Good luck.

I have a Mojo six/six MH for Jigs and soft plastics and it is nice. Outlaw rods are lighter, stronger and much better warranty. $139 for the feel and performance of a upper end G. Loomis rod.

After looking a couple times at bass pro shops and having them let me see all the different set ups. And after some sweet talking I got a 6'6" med. G.loomis imx spinning rod paired with a pflueger supreme spinning reel man I can't wait to use this set up. I hope I'm not disappointed after what I spent on this set up but after looking at all the reviews and everything it should be the best set up I have. Thanks to my wife she is awesome. But don't get it wrong she got the pflueger pink bait caster rod and reel set up so she got what she wanted to. Just mine was more expensive.

I just bought basically the exact same setup recently. I got a six/six medium B and R Outlaw rod with a Shimano Stradic CI4. The 2500 Stradic weighs 7 oz. and the entire setup feels like a feather. VERY sensitive. Perfect for finnesse applications. I looked closely at the Supreme and it looks and feels awesome and the rod you got is great too.
