It is a thing called Civil Liberties.

You think the people of any other non TERRORIST SCARED nations would put up with this? You think their going to have pat downs and body scanners in Israel?
Non American muslims get scanned and patted. But muslim women are fighting to not even have to move their bercha/Vail! hypocrisy

What if they do find a bomb shoved up someones butt? Will we all be subject to full cavity searches?

Underwear bomber! lol Do you believe the UNDERWEAR BOMBER story?
To me their is not a more hilarious title than underwear bomber.
Some dude lit his balls on fire because he hates our freedoms that much. lol
hoax, all the info is online proving how this was all set up to push for more security. Don't take my word go look for yourself.

If your so afraid to fly due to so called terrorism, and think we should all put aside our civil liberties to fly.....Well just maybe your the ones that shouldn't fly and take a bus!

Just because some people are afraid of the boogey men, do all the others of us have to sit on the sideline watching the system of the beast takeover

Body scanners,if I remember correctly put off 10x more radiation than the average X-ray machine.
Hello, not only are we being scanned but were also being radiated.

Imagine the German citizens during the Holocaust....
Is that likely how American citizens will be viewed in future history? A bunch of brainwashed sheep afraid to look past the propaganda to the other side of the story.

    LOL!!
Come on Bob you have to admit the country has a pretty good reason to be paranoid. So maybe as a country we want too much protection at times and it goes to far (by some opinions) so we back off and go with less preventative measures and then it's not enough.

I would still rather have pat downs, dogs sniffing, electronic sniffers, profiling (), shoe checks and general security measures than nothing at all. It's your choice to fly so if you do you gotta play by the rules. JMO

Don you hit the nail on the head. I think comparing this to the Holocaust is like comparing apples to Trains.

    Re: Airport Security

If you don't want a pat down, go through the scanner.

If you don't want to go through the scanner, get a pat down.

If you don't want either, don't fly.

    It's really quite simple.

I also have no problem with a little profiling. If you lined up every terrorist that ever tried to bomb or hijack a plane and they were all short, white, chubby dudes of German descent....well...I'd expect to get searched before every flight.

We must be doing something right, because there haven't been any airline tragedies recently attributed to terrorism...and it isn't because they don't want to.

Catfish Bob, you should stay away from a Federal Building! You fit the profile of an embittered white American with an axe to grind against the government. What profile did the guys fit that blew up the building in Oklahoma City? Oh that's right, they werre exactly like you.

Hmmm, an axe to grind against the govt....That is the exact terminology that the media uses when demonizing the Tea Party etc,,. I've read those exact words many times before.
NO, just for the record or whatever, I have "NO AXE TO GRIND AGAINST THE GUBMENT." I'm just a pee on tax payer and voter, I know my role.

Unless you want to travel down the black hole. Don't get me started on the Ok City event

It is not about my feelings its about civil liberties.

If you want to give yours up, then by all means get to the back of the bus and shut up.

Until then quit crying when people want to preserve what men died for and that make this country great.

Ignorant people will just let their god given rights go right out the window.

    (1) So, men and women died to preserve our civil liberties, but they didn't die for our ability as a country to provide security to our citizens and prevent them from being being blown up on airplanes? Make sure you salute the flag and kiss the constitution right before the hijacker pushes the button. I'm so glad his civil liberties weren't infringed.

    (2) There is a difference between just surrendering all of our certain inalienable rights and having the common sense to allow certain highly effective security measures at airports. I only want to worry about whether or not the pilot is in a good mood and the mechanics of the plane while I'm 30,000 feet in the air....not whether or not the dude in the 3rd row from the front on the left has C4 strapped to his ass or a .380 tucked under his sack. When on a plane, you are putting your life 100% in the hands of somebody else....you have no control....I'm a fan of security out the wazoo in those situations. If I'm in a football stadium or a shopping mall, I can run, kick, jump, duck for cover, or shoot for myself.

    (3) I'm a lot of things, but ignorant aint one of em hoss!

You conspiracy theorists probably have to take a lot of Ambien to sleep! lol Go fishin!!!!

The list of bombings and hijackings pre-911 is not short. The list of bombings and hijackings post-911 is significantly smaller, which tells me that something the TSA/Homeland Security/FBI is doing must be making it harder. Again, it sure isn't for lack of desire on the part of terrorists.
