Thanks for the kind words about my report. I know that on any given day someone will bust a big bag but in my report I try to look at the overall picture for the week past from what we are doing in my boat and also from all the reports I am receiving from my network here. I also, like in this past week's report will often endeavor to try to forecast what may be coming or explain why the bite is like it is...good or poor. I spend a lot of time putting all this together to try to make my report as accurate as I can each week during the season and it is nice to know folks are reading it.
I do sometimes forget that I spent many years living and fishing in central Ky where a lot of you guys live and that a lot of the time what we here consider a slow day here is a good day there when comparing numbers, size etc....it is all relative...lol.
I certainly am not trying to discourage anyone from coming here for more of the fall bite in my report....just trying to tell it like it is and hopefully give you a better understanding of what is happening and that will assist you in putting more fish in the boat here when you come. One thing that is great about Ky/Barkley is that you always on every cast have the chance to put a really big fish in the boat and can also put some fish in the boat, even on a slow day.
You know, we bass anglers fish for the love and challenge of the sport and the pure enjoyment of the outdoors. Why else would we spend what we do on boats, trucks and equipment to catch a fish that most of us are gonna throw right back in the water if not for these reasons...lol.
Tight lines and come fish the big lakes, the fall is not over yet and for those that have not tried it, there is some very good days to be had here in the winter on the bass too. I do not guide in the winter months and do not post a weekly report during the winter months unless I have enough valid informatin to put one up, but that does not mean that I don't have some information in the winter so if you do come down here in the winter months, feel free as always to contact me to see what is going on...I will do my best to point you in the right direction.
Dave
