If it has sat outside uncovered I would be worried about the floors being rotten. check the transom for rot.

I went and looked at a boat that a guy is looking to get rid of. He wants $500, its a Nitro 700 with a 90 hp Mariner. He says that the engine runs fine. I was wanting to know if it was worth trying to fix. It needs seats, carpet, and painted. This was the only things I could see that was wrong because of the junk and inch of snow sitting on it. If anyone could give some info of where to get the seats, carpet, and paint and how much each would cost. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

If the motor runs it would be worth the $500.00.
The guy said we could take it to the lake and see what kind of shape everything was in. I figure there might be more damage than we seen. I was just wondering what the carpet, paint, and seats because thats what would be the hardest for my father-in-law and I to fix. He is a carpenter and my dad is a mechanic, so we can fix some things. I havent bought it. Was wanting opinons before I get in over my head. The boat looks like it could be worth a couple of grand had the guy purchased a tarp.
Does anyone know if onemorecast56 is still around. He could tell you everything you would need to know.
Talked to him yesterday. He's still in Shepherdsville and not leaving town until May. I also saw recently that he posted an ad for his services under the help wanted/work wanted forum.
let me know the info on it if you dont want it. i may buy it. what year is it
Thanks I will give him a call when I get a chance.
$500 or $5000. If it's $500 you better buy it as long as it floats at the lake. That model boat in decent shape, even in the late 90's would be worth a few grand. If the motor works ok it alone is worth much more than $500. Are you thinking about painting over the gel coat? If you do buy it, look over on bassboatcentral at some of the restoration projects. There are a lot of guys that can help you out over there.

He wants $500! It seems like one of those things that are too good to be true. My father in law said something about stripping the paint completly off cause he said you cant ever get the gel coat the same as it came from the factory. I'm still waiting on the weather to get better before I take it for a test drive.$500 or $5000. If it's $500 you better buy it as long as it floats at the lake.
