couple hours produced big fish &#'s

In less than a couple hours today one of the guides from the state dock shared a spot and a technique that produced: one over, one double, several 20 inchers, an that many Ky's. All on livebait, in over 40ft of water. Water temp was 47, air temp just under 32 light wind.
The guides know what works an when an where it works.

sometimes im vague about things but its because some of the guides I'm around here share it with me, therefore id feel better if they explain it.
Randy Gibson who you see on here helps me as well as another guide, Randy with Trophy Hunters, will always answer particular technique's. Dont be afraid to PM him.

I fished yesterday an felt like any minute i could have had big fish on, a lot of fish in the boat but struggled big time, it never happened, its times like this the guides have the knowledge to make it happened.....I know live bait an guides are not for everyone but one trip with these guys will make the
    Dale trip all that.
i can help with temps depths what i know about the bite from others and I enjoy helping

Rick I think you do a great job explaining your techniques.....As I'm sure alot of other people are I really enjoy reading your posts and think many of us on here that enjoy live bait fishing can learn a lot from you....And judging from the pictures there's no doubt youre the man on here when it comes to live bait

Re: couple hours produced big fish &#'s

We go Smallie fishin at Dale this time each year and always have the most luck with live bait. Seems like they are usually around 30-35 feet instead of 40 but they have been a little strange this year. Usually use just a couple splitshots and a small wide gapped hook. It's also a lot easier with a reel with a good clicker on it but we'll generally put out about 60-70 ft of line, set the clicker and cruise around slow with the trolling motor. Wait til you see a couple fish sitting on the bottom with the fish finder, pull up abound 20 ft and let your baits drop to the bottom. When they are feeding you'll hook up more times than not and boy is it fun to hear that clicker start screaming. Better make sure your heart is in good shape cause them winter smallies will stroke a man out if he's not prepared
