Hehehe......Free Enes. And chicken bucket hats........really....lmaoPreston will do one of two things IMO... he will go off because UK didn't recruit him even though he was at their back door, or he will try so hard to prove his point that he will look terrible.
The way U of L wins this game is by their depth and hopefully get UK in foul troble. I think the confidence that the Cards have with their passing and shooting, along with the home crowd, gets the cards a 6 point win.
If it comes down to coaching, I like our Italian better than UK's Italian!
Is that where Pitino gets the oil to slick his hair back......from a chicken bucket..lol. I'm havin fun with this one. Go Cats.......Free Enes.
I caught the 2nd half of the ball game.
1st I've watched of either team this season.
1st thing I was thinking was "WTF is Pitino running a tattoo shop on the side or something. Good Lord them boys are all covered in them things, that big white boy got them nasty green tattoos all over his legs and what. Looked more like a prison team.
And the sad thing for the Cardinal player is that they, unlike the Ohio State players, didn't have anything worth trading for their tats. They do remind you of gang members thought don't they. Maybe if Rick made them all wear buckets on their heads they wouldn't look so rough. LOL Go Cats and Free Enes.
Wow, sure is quiet in here today. Guess everyone went out to eat after the game. I've heard crow taste alot like chicken. LOL. Also heard that if you order enough chicken you can get a free hat. LOL. Go Cats......Free Enes.
I like to poke fun as much as the next guy, but when it comes right down to it, I do believe in being humble both in victory and in defeat. I will have to say that today surprised me a little. I expected to win, but I expected it to be really tight. It looked that way in the first half, as both teams were neck and neck. Then Kentucky pulled away and dominated....really amazed at Josh Harrellson's performance...and Louisville was just out-gunned. Knowles was atomic from three, but he didn't have much help today. I really thought when they went on their run in the second half that they were going to pull it within 5 and we were going to be in for a barn burner, but Kentucky was able to keep poise, weather the storm, and counter. Buckles being out on the inside was a factor, especially with rebounding, but I'm not sure that him in the game would have been a difference maker in the outcome....it would have been closer, but Kentucky just had the game today. As young as we are, we could come out and lay an egg next game against Penn though...that's the way it goes.
Was glad to see a spirited rivalry, but no thuggish maneuvers from either side of the ball this year...and no injuries.
And for the record, I hate the Cards because I'm supposed to hate the Cards...that's what Wildcats do...not because I have some notion that they are tattooed thugs or their fans are all that different from ours. They don't have anymore tatts than other teams you see...for that matter, UK last year was loaded with tatts. So what! I don't care for Pitino's personal character, but he's a heck of a coach...and I will always respect him for what he did while at UK. He's a dirty rotten turncoat for coming back to college to coach our arch rival, but stuff happens. And lastly, the Pitino/Sypher jokes got old about 48 hours after the scandal broke, so let's move on from that.
Regardless of all the back lines, this is one of the best rivalries in college basketball, and I look forward to the game every year.
We won! We beat our in-state rival and we love every minute of it...but we could just as easily have lost. Let's stay classy, Cat Fans.

PS. HOWEVER, I have got to say...the arena sponsored by Yum/KFC and the wearing a chicken bucket on your head thing...that's just asking for it. Comedy Gold. LOL Even the announcers were toying with it, ala "Here in the Yum Center, Kentucky's eatin good!"
Dang am I out of touch with the outside world these days..... I didn't even realize they played today until I came across this thread. Gee whiz.....

And - believe it or not - I was raised a UK fan and now pull for both teams. The one thing you can count on with this game, as evidenced from some of the comments above - a bunch of 18- and 19- year olds bouncing a ball can make a bunch of 30- and 40-year olds act like 8-year olds.
I thought it was for the most part an evenly called and clean game,I am surprised that the refs didn't call a flagrant foul on Terrence Jennings with about 5 seconds to go when he grabbed DeAndre Liggins legs to prevent a layup.Liggins could have been injured by this lazy "D"

I didn't notice that during the game, and apparently the refs didn't either. It could have just been a knee-jerk reaction as Liggins got by him....I wouldn't read too much into it. Basketball is a physical game full of split second decisions...and some times, you screw up.
There are pictures plainly showing one ref (not Jim Burr) looking plainly at the incident.Only 5 seconds to go,knee jerk reaction or not grabbing a players legs while they are in the air and flipping them is a flagrant foul by the rules,Liggins could have been severly injured by this. There was no reason for this type action and Jennings should have at least been called for the foul.I didn't notice that during the game, and apparently the refs didn't either.
