Bob - The courier-journal is the original party that done the snoopin' as it pertains to this thread. In fact I think at one time they may have even printed it in the newspaper (not sure).

I wonder why the CJ feels the need to maintain their own database, instead of just a link to the state site where the info is just as easy to find?
If it's any comfort, it's not just here. This site has links to where you can find the same information on all 50 states and D.C.: http://sunshinereview.org/index.php/...mployee_salary
This information has always been public, it's just that before the Internet we didn't have it at our fingertips. For instance, the PVA records Bob mentioned have always been open to the public, but you used to have to traipse down to the PVA office to find out what your neighbor's house was worth; now you can look it up on the web.
I guess I don't care much about what the neighbors houses are worth, at least not until it comes time to sell my own home...likewise I don't really care much about what anyone else makes either....UNLESS...It's someone who works for the state and they've gave me a reason to wonder what he or she makes....I work in construction and on most days, on most projects, etc...I travel at the speed of light (or so it feels like anyway), in regards to deadlines, due dates, etc....then when I get involved with this Bozo at the state it's like I hit a brick wall and have to put it in neutral and coast for awhile, having to spend ridiculous amounts of time editing and re-editing specifications, drawing details that are what I consider to be "over kill", etc...all because Bozo at the state (the client), requests it. Profits cannot be made on a project when this guy is involved, heck profits on state work can't really be made anyway, or if a profit is made it's slim...anyway, there have been contractors admit the cost of a project goes up when they know Bozo is the project manager on the job.
Soooo there you have it...this is why I looked into what the courier-journal provided...sure as heck didn't mean to step on Hurricane's toes or Headricks toes or anyone else...
Hey, again, you didn't step on my toes at all, serious, no offense on this side taken at all. Its public info, and all I was doing is to say, "Hey, here's more public info if anyone elects to use it".
Why do I care about what neighbors house cost? Cause if I sell, its a comparable and gives me an idea what to ask for mine. Salaries? Yep, it nice to know what else is out there, and what it would pay, if I decided to chase it.
Chub, not offended at all
