Next time that one guy gets on here complaining about how bass fisherman are ruining the bluegill/crappie populations I am going to refer him to this link.

Im glad all the bass pros get blamed for the lakes getting bad. Me I am a carps adn cats guy, I leave all them basses and such for you fancy guys. Never hear me complainin about the lack of carps or cats in a pond around here, thats why i fish the Mississinewa a ton, its choke full of carps!

I still think thats a lot of fish to keep for one man, even of hes a porr fella like me. I dont know if it hurts a pond or not, guess it would if someone just kept doing it over and over.

Maybe he is feeding the poor and home less people in Indianapolis? I know a real good hunter that lives near me, swell guy and all! He brings me two deers every year and doesnt want nothing in return, except for some stories and cold beers in my man room.LOL! I really do like the meat and he likes my stories, trying to get him out carpin next year and show him a thng or two bout carpin.

Im rambling on so I goota get going.

Congrats on the nice haul! I've had a few of those days myself. I pity all the cleaning though, that took you a bit.

If you awant to go carpin let me know, we will hit it as soon as the ice is gone, theres some good ones up here but not liek those ones i got at patoka last fall. those were 3 plus footers!!!!!!! real drag smokers, better not bring any of that sisy bass gear or you will be cryin like grandpappy when he hit his knee with an ax!!!!

That's alright. Thanks for the invitation but I'll pass on that carpin deal. You and maudu can go ahead a carpin til y'all a crappin all you want. I prefer to stick with my sissy bass gears. Those walmart surf casters are too much for me.

I keep so many because I enjoy eating them, dont hate because you cant do the same! Im not on a small pond either, its a decent size lake! Secondly my dad cant get out and ice fish so I make sure he has some winter time fish...theres nothing wrong in my eyes keeping that many, I fillet everything and nothing goes to waste!

No jealously here, I dont fish Bluegill/Crappie, nor do I keep them when I catch one.

But in your original post you claimed in three days you took home 86, 100+ and 78.... So you kept almost 300 fish in a span of three days.... Thats 600 fillets... Youve realistically caught a year supply of bluegill/crappie in three days. But you will continue to harvest all year long.

Its just my opinion that you are making a mistake by continuing to hoard fish like that. They arent rabbits. They dont procreate several times a year. All it takes is a few of you guys to rob a lake of a decent fishing spot where 20-30 keepers will probably hold you over for a while.

Ive also seen several times on this website Pan guys come on here and complain about bass fishermen ruining their good crappie/bluegill fishing holes. Yet they dont think twice about scooping up enough fish to feed a church on good friday all for themselves.

In the end youre really only hurting yourself... You are taking away Bass biggest threat as bluegills help control populations by eating their eggs. This will lead to even worse panfish populations than your poaching as Bass can eat hundreds of fry during after a spawn.

You dont have to take my word for it though, there is plenty of history all around the world as proof over harvesting will eventually catch up to those who do it. I just wish you didnt display such arrogance/ignorance about that fact.
