what's your best recovery bottom drag

I have used them all fish stingers, egg sinkers with hooks, grappling hooks, the magnet is almost a thing of the past

this fellow handed me a 12/15 inch piece of chain with at least 7-8 huge treble hooks,

maybe 2 inch throat on the trebles, anyway the chain laid out nice an flat an recovered the rod first toss, stows away neatly....any other things you use that work

The chain and hooks is a good way to go, used to use something very similar,I now use the butt section of a cheap bait casting rod,and used up bait casting reel, and a lure knocker with a few trebles added. I use 100 lb braid on the reel and about 25 yds of line. The reel works with the free spool and quickly hits the snag, another use for the outfit?Attached a strong snap &swivel, and hooked it to our dogs harness, plenty of line to roam and still obey the leash laws, that little 19 lb turd was dragging me around long enough.
