    White bass spawn @ Nolin

Since I just started fishing Nolin this past spring, I have never fished the white bass spawn there before...but I've heard its really good. I did catch some white bass this summer in the jumps, and they were all healthy, fun fish! I would love to get into them come spring time. I imagine they head up the Nolin headwaters, just looking to get any tips from those that have fished it before. Thanks guys!

I suggest a canoe and sassy shads. Be ready to float some swift waters and at times you may be stepping out of canoe. Any where from Spurrier dam to wax About 40 river miles although I have caught them as far up as White Mills. To far for a canoe ride take your pick of take outs which are few unless you have connections. Bank fishing is very good way to go. You can put in at wax and motor up 13 or so miles or how ever far your boat will go in the shallower waters it can be a prop dinger for sure. Time of year differs I usually start looking for the walleye run before the white bass mid febuary. If there there, be ready for a crowd regardless of which day of the week you choose.

Thanks Coombro...looks like I might need to break the canoe out of storage this spring. That walleye fishing would be fun...and man they are good eating! Thanks again!

No problem I live on the nolin river so if I can help you out this way I will. If I ever get out of Jamestown I'll start looking for them. Nolin use to be a pre-moe walleye lake and the runs were awsome! Just have to work harder to find them now. Thats why I suggest bank fishing or canoe as the nolin headwaterers are not that wide or deep and the motors just run them off.

I appreciate it....the only walleye I've caughten are during our Quetico trips in Canada every summer. They are delicious, especially over a camp fire in the wilds of Canada! Hopefully I'll get into some along with the whities this spring!
