Re: Barren BassMasters Open Fishing Tackle Swap Meet

I don't go to Bass Pro and its free. The only time I buy anything from chain stores is if I have received a gift card from someone.

I'd rather give my money to these small shows and small tackle shops.

Nicely said Charlie . . . I feel the same way. I usally leave alot of money with the venders when I leave. Anything from vintage & old collectable lures . . . gently used rods and reels, baits(discontinued, hard to find fish catchers) guys selling their hand crafted lures (hair jigs for bass and crappie; spinnerbaits; hand poured plastics; as well as hard body and wooden crankbaits) Some of the best craftsmanship I have ever seen or witnessed!
I have been going to this swap for years. The showhas been very good to me! Enjoy it very much . . it also cures cabin fever blues! Mel

I was just trying to point out that with hard economic times it's hard not only to afford to fish but to have to go to a place to pay to buy equipment.

    OK ???
lets see the closest bass pro is nashville or clarksville from here
unless gas is free now i dont think you can get there for $5 bucks
so basicly for $5 bucks you can come to the swap meet, enjoy your self, meet some nice people, and pick up a few good deals on stuff
    or.....
sit at home watchin Bill Dance reruns trying to sneek in a order on the phone while trying to keep the wife from finding out how much we really spend?

    ???...
ill be at the swap meet come see us
