Re: Barren BassMasters Open Fishing Tackle Swap Meet

This should be one of our better shows. Glenn Reeves who is in charge of the dealer tables said all the tables have been reserved and other dealers are on a waiting list in case of a cancellation. Hope to see everyone there what better way to spend a cold Saturday then with a bunch of fellow anglers.

Don't forget if you have a boat for sale there is plenty of room in the parking lot.

Re: Barren BassMasters Open Fishing Tackle Swap Meet

Some of our members set up the tables for the Swap Meet today. There are over 100 dealer tables reserved at this time. We were able to gain about 15 extra open tables by the way they were placed around the room. Any patrons that might show up with items for sale need to contact Glenn Reeves, he should be able to find a place for you to set up. Hope to see everyone there tomorrow.

Re: Barren BassMasters Open Fishing Tackle Swap Meet

I was a little bit disappointed with my experience at the swap meet. The swap meet was advertised go from 8AM to 2PM. I arrived at approximately 10:30 AM and there were already quite a few empty tables and by about 11:30 AM probably 75% of the vendors had packed up and were gone or were leaving. It's disappointing to pay admission and mostly see people leaving with their merchandise. I suggest that next year some reasonable minimum commitment of time should be required or else change the advertised ending time to perhaps 11:30 AM or so. Just my opinion.

Olgrey, I think you mis-read what was happening. I was one of the first, if not the first, vender to leave and I didn't pack up until 1230 mainly because I had to meet someone later. There were a bunch of empty tables from the very beginning. If you read BRONZEBACK's post above he said they had extra tables open: "We were able to gain about 15 extra open tables by the way they were placed around the room. Any patrons that might show up with items for sale need to contact Glenn Reeves".

They admitted that they way they placed the tables wasn't very good and would go back to the old way next year. I thought it was a great swap meet and will go back.

Enjoyed my time there.....agree the table arrangement should have gone a little different as it was kinda hard to navigate the people and the tables...but all in all i'd say it was a good show...I didn't mind spendin the 5 bucks to get in a bit....got a few good deals and enjoyed looking around...won't heitate a bit to go back next year

I also enjoyed the show. Being that there are alot of used baits it takes time to look through everything which backs the isles up. I agree with the tables. The vendors should be behind their tables not standing in the isle. Is there anyway to put vendors in the lobby where you walk in? Seemed to be some extra room and it was cooler. LOL!

Re: Barren BassMasters Open Fishing Tackle Swap Meet

We have already reserved the space for next year and have talked to them about renting more space to be able to spread out a little more, we admit we made a mistake with the table arrangements but at the time we had nearly 10 vendors on the waiting list and no room for walk-in and we did what we could with the situation.

We respect everyones opinion, and have taken them into consideration for next year.

    Thanks,
