    full metal jackets

It was fortunate that the wacko bought them. A soft nosed round would have killed out righy. Thats why military rounds use them, to wound and disable. My home protector is a hollow point loaded weapon.

.45 Hornaday Critical Defense ammo here. It's prolly the best out there for stopping, making big holes in stuff and giving dirt naps.

I've allways said that if you really want some "home" pretection...try a 12ga pistal grip shotgun. The mossberg 500 special purpose persuader, is my gun of choice..(7+1) capacity..got the 18 1/2 barrel. Some call it the "cruiser" pump shotgun; It's loaded with 3' 4-shot turkey loads, at this time!
Just a great gun if you get in a shoot out..close range, in the dark...in the house. Just my oppinion.

No doubt that the safest "persuader" to have. Rounds won't leave your house and hurt a non intended target.

This is not entirely true and is in fact a dengerous myth among gun owners. If you are using teh wrong loads, they will actually penetrate more than handgun or rifle loads. Bird shot is what you want for home defense. 00 buckshot will actualy overpenetrate worse than a .223 round. I personally use .40 and choose Cor-Bon as my ammo. But I know every shooting angle in my house and what my backstop is. Hollow point isnt the whole story... make sure you are using bonded core hollow points. And above all else, make sure you shoot your self defense ammo through your weapon. Some guns just dont eat certain ammo.
