Speaking of t-ville being overpopulated with shad...if the fish have a unlimited amout of shad to eat could that be the reason that its hard to catch a limit of nice bass from there. If they fill up on shad all the time maybe the bass arent hungry as often as they are at other lakes. I have never seen any other lake with as many shad as t-ville. Then on the other hand if they have that much to eat why isnt it loaded with big bass ? I know it sees a lot of pressure but i just dont understand why its not one of the best bass fisheries in the state. Anyway thats my 2 cents.

T-ville is not very good just remember not matter how many shad there are in that lake you have several different species eatin them up also bass majority of the time smack our baits out of reaction or instinct

I think I read in KY Afield that the spawning numbers for bass in Taylorsville are extremely low year in and year out. The lake bottom doesn't promote it. Anyone else hear of this?

come down to rough and you can walk across the shad but we can get the bass .

Taylorsville is a tough cookie to crack. The spawn varies form year to year dependant upon water levels , I have seen the years when they have had a tremendous spawn , with it lasting three to four weeks and other years so so. The corps of engineers at Tville are worried about one thing ...And thats flood control and fish take a back seat , and if you live below the **** from Taylorsville to the Ohio river you can probably appreciate that. Fishing in the spring and the fall of the year can be just about as good as any of the other smaller lakes around. I was speaking with the head fisheries biologist for Taylorsville and all there data indicates that there will be a very strong class of 15 inch fish this season.....I hope there data is right . I cant complain though a fifteen minute drive and Im afloat... Jarrod

I always think that it's interesting when people talk about the different lakes, one person loves a lake and will do well there and another person hates it and says they cant catch a thing. I fish t-ville a lot and I like the lake and have had some really good days there. On the other hand it seems like all here about is how awesome Cedar is but I have never done any good there. There is no doubt in my mind that it is a great lake I just have not been there on the right day I guess. As far as t-ville goes I for one think it is a great place to bass fish.
