    Pollywog lake, Grant County

    Hey gang,

My children and I have set ourselves the task of fishing in as many Kentucky counties as we can this coming year.

Bearing in mind that we can only bankfish, does anyone know whether Pollywog Lake in Grant County is suitable for our needs? We viewed it on Google Maps and it seems a viable spot but I'm looking for further confirmation.

    Thanks in advance.

Pollywog is an awesome place to fish! There are tons of small bluegill and there are a lot of small bass and quite a few that could go 3+. It has recently been placed in Kentucky's FINs, fishing in the neighborhoods, system which means it is stocked with trout twice a year and I am pretty sure that it is stocked with catfish as well. You should definitely check it out.

I'm not sure where Pollywog lake is in Grant county? I live in Pendleton county and have fished most bigger lakes Corinth,Willianstown,Boltz, and Bullockpen, along with Eagle Creek. I always did well taking my kids to Leary lake at Loydd WMA on highway 491 in Crittenden.Leary has a good population of decent Bluegill and LM Bass.My youngest hooked a 5 lb 2 oz LM on his snoopy pole with shiners on a bobber near the handicap access dock about 7 years ago, little guy fought it until his arms wore out and I had to land it for him.
There is plenty of bank access at Leary,I guess the downside is it gets fished heavy. If you need any info on Pendleton or other Northern Ky counties I'd be glad to help anyway I can.

Thanks guys. Didn't realise this was a FINS lake, we've had mixed success with those so far. It'll be about an hour ride for us so we'll probably take the kids for an hour or three once it warms up. Appreciate your help!
