the ky river is the only river in frankfort/franklin county. there are several ramps up and down the upper and lower pools. some are better than others. Benson creek and Steele branch are two of the more popular ones. as far as camping there are a couple of campgrounds but elsewhere you'll probably want to get permission from the land owner before pitching a tent. as far as fishing you'll just have to get out there and try. some spots are better than others and the river can be pretty hit and miss as conditions can change overnight/day to day. hope this helps.

I think you are talking about puttin in with a canoe or kayak and drifting a river then camping on teh bank. If so... try teh Green River from Munfordville to Houchins Ferry. Take yoru time and do it in 4days/3nights. Get a back country camping permit from Mammoth Cave and camp along the banks of the river. YOu can catch just about anything you want in these waters... including musky.

Thats definatly one of the most relaxing canoe trips i take. The mammoth cave streach of the green river is by far my favorite. Like you said permit required, but no fishing liscence needed inside the park. Camp anywhere you like in the flood plain and not worry about being on private land. River gets a little flat, but the peace and quiet out weigh that. Fishing wise you can expect to catch just about any of Kys. fresh water fish.

Thanks everyone,i'll try the earth thing.I plan on fishing a riverbassin tournament.Rivers are the water we can fish with in the boundries.Ohio is out side and green too i think. This being all new too me from kayak too never been on the river's.The way it works you can go any where in the boundries but must be a river or creek. This sport is growing inland too fresh water and is a big thing on the ocean shore line. The Richmond Va boat show had 4or more kayak dealers at it.I look for it too grow.
