    Angry Thieves at Southern Open

Anyone read where several of the Bass Southern Open guys had their stuff stolen the Monday of the event. Stuff like fishing rods and reel, baits, power poles, etc.
    Here's the link:

Yeah, I saw that one of the guys had to have his wife "overnight" some replacement gear but, as he said, "it's kinda hard to overnight a powerpole!"

    Re: Thieves at Southern Open

went to radio shack and got a motion switch an wired it to the horn on the truck as soon as the boat is shook the alarm goes off
even the weight of someone steping on the fender to get in the boat is enough to set it off
but alarms and locks are for honest people (to keep them honest) if a true crook wants it he will figure a way to get it nomatter what !!!

I heard over on bbc that they cought someone for this. Don't really know if they did for sure yet but I hope they did and don't send them to jail, give the fisherman some alone time with whoever did it and they won't do it again without any arms and beat to hell and back!!

Sad part is if an angler found out or caught one in action or whatever and defended his property physically, chances are not only the angler going to jail but in trouble with his tournament boss as well probably losing his status.

    Re: Thieves at Southern Open

I have the "Rod Locker" steel bar that locks the front boxes as well as the rod boxes and I thought "I'm safe with this set up"..... And a guy at Bull Shoals told me that they use a sawsall and cut threw the bar and now you not only lose your tackle but one of your deck lids is trashed!!!! I agree, you don't know who to trust anymore
