That's the number my grandmother had from her nine children.

The oldest (my sister) was born in 1946 and I can't recall the birth year of the youngest. I was the first born grandson.

Anyway, this allowed me to have 23 first cousins on my mother's side of our family, and I know all of them.

Sadly, we just experienced the first death of one of granny's 25 grandkids. A female cousin, 51 years old, took her own life. She herself had 3 children and an unknown,to me, number of grandchildren herself.

I still find it amazing that all of granny's grandkids were still alive.Myself and another male cousin served in the military. No deaths from war, disease,or vehicle accidents. I'd say our family beat a lot of odds for all of us cousins to have survived that long.
