!!! Catfish rigs !!!

What does your catfish rig consist of while fishing in paylakes? I mostly fish for bigfish at childress.

What brand of line and #test?

What brand and size of hook?

Bait?

I use Berkly Big Cat 20# test...i use the rubber bobber stoppers then a small bead followed by a medium sized bead, i then put an 8 to 10 inch float followed by a bead, sinker, bead sinker, bead then my swivel big cat 20# leader followed by a 7/0 gamakatsu hook...i usually use whole bluegill or creek chubs or cut bait.


Just looking for some others rigs to see if i can better my own... also has anyone used the offshore line from bass pro for big cats...does it have a lot of stretch or memory? hows the strength?

I rarely fish the pay lakes due to being 20 mins from two ramps on the Ohio River. I use Berkley Big Game 25# or Offshore 20# and have no complaints on either. The Offshore has not had any failures that could not be traced back to operator error It spools up smoothly, casts well, and does not seem to develop a lot of memory in my experience. It is a good line for the price IMO.
