Just to report I went to Nolin on Thursday. It was good to get out but started out late. Took the cover off of the boat around 7:15 am to head out and went through my check list items. Coffee, check, gloves and full facemask, check.... Tackle box, check, poles....poles...uhh, ohh in the ski compartment on my boat....opened it up to find 9 inches of solid ice. And yes, lol poles frozen in the middle. It's was almost comical to me. After buckets of water the ice thawed and I was on the lake around 11:30. The water was like chocolate milk and around 41 degrees. I thought it was warm and should have been a good day but after dragging a Carolina rig around for an hour, tried throwing a jig for about an hour, Texas rigged grub for an hour and yielded nada. All and all a good day. Didn't see another boat. Put in and went from Wax to Dog creek.
So....my reels need some oiling. What or where has worked for anyone trying to get reels back to shape.
