Considering a spring trip for crappie/gills/redear in March-May. Never been and will most likely hire a guide for first trip. I would appreciate any names and/or info on guides that offer panfishing. Trip will most likely include 1 or 2 pre-teen kids. Thanks.

I THINK that Craig Hipsher also guides for panfish. Maybe Dave will stop in and answer your question. He knows all those guys.
Here are some guides that do the panfish that I know and would recommend:
Kirk Weber: Capt Kirk's Guide Service
Rodney Hairgrove: Rodney Hairgrove's Guide Service
Randy Kuhen: Kick N Bass Guide Service
Craig Hipshire: Craig Hipshire's Guide Service
Lydon Wicker: Fish Tales Guide Service
Brad Weakley: Weakley's Guide Service
If I were you, no matter which service you book your trip with, specify that you want that individual named above as your guide...some services have more than one person working in the service...not that those folks are not capable...but I would want the guy that has the reputation and not his cousin.

By all means hire a guide for crappie fishing. But,if your fishing for bluegill and redears in may you probably wont need a guide. Its a pretty easy pattern to get on.No disrespect to the guides intended.Your gonna love the lake.
Have you ever been to Ky/Barkley lake? If so just go to the back of any pockets and fish shallow I use wax worms at a 1-2 ft deep. You may have to look around a little but you can find them. I'm talking about the bluegill. Its not hard just dont over think it. I will go Memorial weekend and catch a year worth of bluegill. Just got to like to clean fish for a few hours in the evening.
Thanks all. I will look at all the names listed.
