A Rod, Cameron Diaz, Skip Bayless and...

So for all you fellas at work or not watching ESPN:

The buzz today is they are making fun of Alex Rodriguez for getting caught on camera last night at the Super Bowl (in his Box Seat of course), getting fed popcorn by Cameron Diaz. Mike Golic, of the Mike and Mike show, said if A Rod was a football player he would not be allowed back in the locker room. Are you kidding me? Mike Golic would love to have Cameron Diaz feeding him uncooked popcorn dipped in hog slop with a nice coating of THE PLAGUE!!!

Who in the hell is Skip Bayless and how many Heisman Trophies, Lombardi Trophies and / or NFL MVP awards does he have? This moron on First and 10 is saying that Aaron Rodgers has not proven himself as a winner yet, has not proven himself that he can lead his team down the field in the 4th quarter to win a game, not proven himself.....blah blah blah. The Green Bay Packers rushed for 50 yards TOTAL last night. **** Lebeau (sp) the Hall of Fame Defensive Coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the #1 ranked defense in the NFL knew the Packers were going to pass the ball and they still could not stop them. Somewhere in the locker room before the game if you told Lebeau, Mike Tomlin and the entire Pittsburgh Steeler Defense that the Packers will have exactly 50 yards rushing on 13 attempts, they would have thought they would win by 3 touchdowns. A little sidenote Skip "Skippy" Bayless, the Green Bay Packers were never behind by more than 7 points in any game at any point in time THE WHOLE REGULAR SEASON, THE WHOLE PLAYOFFS, AND THE ENTIRE SUPER BOWL!!! He does not have to lead his team down the field in the last quarter for the winning score because THEY ARE ALWAYS LEADING IN THE 4TH QUARTER. They led by double digits in EVERY playoff game this year, all of them on the road by the way. Aaron Rodgers starts playing just after the coin is tossed, not when he looks up at the scoreboard and finds his team behind in the 4th quarter.

Where does ESPN get these guys to offer their expertise on the topics?

Elwood, Skip always takes the contreversial side, it is his gig. That's what he does. He used to fill in for Jim Rome on the radio show and he would do the same things to get a reaction. Callers to the show would call him Skip Clueless.

As for A Roid, he is a fairy and the only reason Cameron Diaz was with him was because she is trying to get make up and home decorating tips from him. I mean, steroids are one thing, but seriously, how much purple lipstick can one overpaid, chokes-in-the-clutch third baseman wear?

Not to take away from Rodgers ability, because he proved himself to be a Super Bowl winning QB... But one touchdown was a Pick-6 thrown by Cheeseburger. So Ben actually threw one of Green Bay's TDs. And two other TDs came from incredible field position after more Steeler turnovers.

I think the real test for Rodgers will be if he continues to play at this level into the next season. Then I will be 100% convinced he is as good as he looks now, and this season hasnt been a fluke.

Whether the field position was the GB 20 yard line or the Steelers 20 yard line, the #1 ranked vaunted defense in the NFL absolutely knew the Packers were going to Pass the ball every single play and they still could not Intercept him, Sack him hard enough to make him funble or stop him in anyway possible. Seems to me with the shorter field would play into the Steelers hands of having a smaller field to chase around all the receivers plus the Packers #1 receiver went down in the first half with an injury. 24 of 39 for 304 yards, 3 TD's and No interceptions with a 111.5 passer rating against a defense that was #1 in the NFL with a Hall of Fame Defensive coordinators, one of the best Defensive minds in all of football, when they run for a total of 50 yards proves to me Rodgers is the real deal. The Packers been walking it and talking it ever since they basically picked Rodgers over Favre and now at 27years old, Rodgers is the same age that Brett was when he won is one and only ring. My bet is Rodgers will win at least one more than Brett before it is all over with.

Bayless usually has a good insight on sports. I have watched him on many occassions and I always want to hear how he looks at the topics. He doesn't sugar coat many statements and I like that.
He sure looks like he has ants in his pants when he starts speaking! If he gets going he looks as if he is about to blast off.....I don't know his qualifications??
I'lll have to see this clip your talking about. I say that because he has a long winded take on just about anything he talks about but it's usually spot on. IMO

I saw the clip and remembered it a little differently. I thought the question was whether you'd rather have Rodgers or Rothlisberger as QB of your team, and Bayless wanted Big Ben because of how clutch he USUALLY is with game-winning drives. Up to now, Rodgers hasn't had opportunities to establish himself in that part of the game.

I'd rather have Rodgers, because I'm not a big fan of sexual assault.

Much of Bayless' commentary is actually a commentary against the media. Any sports fan should recognize how silly the media can be. After all, in about a month, they almost crowned Brady, Rothlisberger, and now Rodgers as best ever. It's the same argument he has against LeBron James. Yes, he's great, but he hasn't won it yet, so can't be the king.

Yeah I caught some of it and it was heated to say the least. I remember hearing that they wanted Skip to say he was wrong about his opinion of taking Rodgers over Farve three years ago and he wouldn't back down. Skip was making the point that he is a win now kinda guy and that Farve was that guy at that time.
They were saying he was wrong now that GB won a Super Bowl with Rodgers and Farve had one great year but failed.

It's not about intelligent conversation on the sports shows (or any news show you can name). it is about drama. If they can say something really dumb that stirs up the masses, more people will watch just to see what they will say next.
