Which do you prefer in plastics?

Do you like to catch several fish on a piece of plastic or are you the type that if you catch just one fish you feel that it did its job? Me I prefer very soft plastics and don't worry much about how well they hold up.

I'll fish one till it's wasted then grab another.

I will use mine till it won't stay on the hook anymore. I will pinch it off a little if I have to or even reverse sides till it's pretty much destroyed.

I fish them until they fall apart. I have been on good when I get on a good lizzard bite, I keep a lighter handy and I will melt the nose several times. Once it won't stay on the hook I will get another. If I quit catching fish for a bit I will change too.

Some plastics like Senko's don't hold up well at all, but they get pricey. I have had days where I have gone through 4 or 5 bags of them - that is over $25 in plastics. I will try my best to make them last. The o-ring wacky rig helps a great deal, but sometimes I do better with them t-rigged.

I admit it...I'm cheap! I'll use a bait until it won't stay on the hook even with superglue. I've been know to take old baits out of my boat and glue and/or melt them back together for the next day.

I have done the samething. I don't think it matters to the fish.

I saw a fishing show this weekend on Versus called Fishing University and they were pushing a plastic called Zman. It stretched and was solid looking. They made it out of another material besides plastiques. It is the commercial where the guy shoots the bait with a shotgun then fishes with it. Anyone else see this show or product?

There was a tip in the last Bassmasters to make your plastics last longer when t rigging. Coming from the rod, put the line through one end of a small swivel, tie on your hook, thread the plastic on through the head and out the side like normal, but right before you stick it back through the body run the hook through the other side of the swivel then into the body. I haven't tried it yet but think I will.

Also once your curly tails or creature baits get worn out, you can trim them down and make jig or spinnerbait trailers.

Isn't that pretty much like the stuff that's been out for years from Strike King? I forget the name of the stuff but you can stretch a lizard like 3 ft!

Yeah those Senko's are pricey. I use Yum Dingers are they do a great job plus Walmart usually puts them on sale sometime through the year and I'll stock up for the Spring!!

If it looks good and can still hold a hook, I'll keep on using it.
