I have heard that you cannot on Corps lakes, because they make their own rules. That being said, I have never read/heard this from any attorneys or law enforcement officer so I do not know if it is true or not.
I'd never heard about restrictions on Corps lakes, but I do know that it used to be against the law to carry at Laurel because it fell in the Daniel Boone National Forest and the feds said no. That changed a year or two ago though and now they don't ban concealed carry at the lake.
From my understanding, the Corps has no control over firearms laws on the water itself, but they can ban firearms in their campgrounds or on their ramps. I have always been of the "what they dont know wont hurt them" mentality. It is concealed for a reason... if you do it right, they should never know.
KRS 527.020(8) states in part that: "A firearm or other deadly weapon shall not be deemed concealed on or about the person if it is located in a glove compartment, regularly installed in a motor vehicle by its manufacturer, regardless of whether said compartment is locked, unlocked, or does not have a locking mechanism."
I guess the question is whether or not a boat is considered a "motor vehicle"....It's a vehicle....with a motor....and the console has a glove compartment installed by the manufacturer....
