Fuel stabilizer

My old boat I had to mix oil and gas as well. I would keep it low all winter and then when I went out in Feb I would top the tank off and get a bottle or carb cleaner and pour it in the tank to clean out the carbs. I never and still dont use Stabil. I never had a problem with mine she was just rough to start sometimes when it was super cold out but a few pumps of the bulb and she fired right up.

Most gas stations in Ky have ethanol fuel. I would run Marine Formula Stabil,Seafoam or Starton in every tank year round. In the off/winter season I would give it a storage dose. Ethanol fuel draws mositure faster,breaks down/phase seperates faster and is more corrosive to rubber gaskets and fuels lines than non ethanol fuel.

I run Marine Formula Stabil year round 1 oz to 10 gallons and 1 oz to 5 in the winter. I have seen what the effects of ethanol fuel going bad looks like...If it runs on gas and sits unused for prolonged periods I treat the fuel...chainsaw,weedeater,leaf blower,garden tiller,4 wheeler.

the question is, how long has it sat? if its only a few months, there should be no issue really, i know this,cause ive done it. never had any problems. after 6 months id say maybe be concerned. if you top the fuel off, then you should be fine. just dont go reaming across the lake wide open on the first tank
