Does anyone fish there? If so do you know around when the stripped bass will be running? I usually head down for spring break but dont do so hot unless its in the morning. Just wondering if anyone knew around what time they actually started running.

I striper fish up there all the time. June July Aug are the best months. You really need to go with a experienced person at first you can get in trouble real fast if you don't know the river.
I talked to a TON of folks down there today.
They had 1 lock opened on the upper, and the water was low enough to get to the second shelf back by the bend.
NO ONE was catching any fish from the interpretive center to Colgate Creek. I asked everyone and watched folks for 20 minutes or so at each stop.
I didn't see a SINGLE fish caught.
That being said, the birds were going APE Sheite.......I saw about 5 billion gulls up by the locks.
It will be interesting to see if they move up.
BTW........anyone know where to get some minners down this way. The baitshop at Stansifer ave is closed........
Later,
Geo.
I have been fishing there for about 5 years now. I know that part of the river fairly well. I have been there once when the striped bass were running and i was not prepared for them. was just wondering when the best time to go down there was. I know the morning is when i have my best of luck. I try to fish for bass and catfish, but usually end up with only catfish. Hopefully i can get down there around the time they start to spawn.
