Road Rage

I was driving 65mph today on the bypass around Nicholasville this morning on my way to Danville from Lexington. Anyone from this area knows thats a bad area to speed (55mph posted) but I felt froggy or foolish either way I was speeding.

I'm in the left lane and here comes a Black Toyota Highlander flashing his headlights wanting me to get over and out of the left lane. I had been watching this nimrod for a few miles pulling way over into the left shoulder to see what was holding traffic up many times. It wasn't me cause I was speeding....finally he passed or bullied others and got to me. He could have pulled into the right lane and passed me but he didn't. I guess he liked my rearend? He stayed there for a while trying to intimidate me to move out of his lane.

Anyway, I'm talking (not texting) on the phone and have plenty of time so I intentionally slow down to insure he cannot pass me as I'm now staying up with the guy in the right lane. This guy is UPSET and the lights are flashing high and low... high and low for about 5 miles maybe more. I finally let him go and of course I get the finger salute and horn blow so I just smiled and waved to really get his blood pressure up.

I followed him into Danville and all the while he was doing the same junk to others...as far as tailgating goes. I stayed way back since I'm not looking for an accident but I did decide to see where he was going. So I followed him onto side roads, back roads and basically all around Danville. He was nervous because I could see his face in the side mirror.

I never felt like I was in harms way since he had many opportunities to get out and say something or roll his window down and yell at me.
It was funny how the big bad bully starting running around town scared thinking he had just pissed off a madman....maybe he will learn to ease up.

BTW...I didn't have my pistol so I wasn't looking for an excuse to use it or anything.

I thought it was an interesting story and if by chance he is on here or you know someone who experienced a mean guy in a Silver Toyota Highlander(me) today around 8:30am let him know it's all good and him and I should meet for...uhh lunch....I'm buying...

I was as calm as "a lake on a hot windless day in August" but this boy lost his marbles......I did enjoy the show as it made my drive much more eventful.
There was a time that I would have handled that differently....guess I'm growing old or up? Not sure which...

I'm the same way Bro. Now I just let it go, it helps my blood pressure and I don't have to come down off of that dang adrenalin (spelling) rush.

I was driving to work today in my black highlander doing my normal 20 over the speed limit when some old codger was crawling along at 65 in the gofast lane believe it or not Talking on his cellphone. Boy you talk about pissed, I can't tell you the thoughts that went thru my little brain or the things I thought up to tell him when all of a sudden he pulled over and finally let me go around. And then when I was beside him he smiled and waved oh gall of this guy well I get back up to 85 again except for some other inconsiderates in the left lane and whoah I look back and here is that crazy old fool following me with that silly grin on his face. I thought about calling the cops cause I know this guy is nuts and probably got a gun on him too. After driving all over the place I loose him and get to work a littlr shook up and 25 minutes late but at least safe from that crazy person.....my version Highlander boy..... sorry couldn't help myself LOL notice my avatar says Senior on it Don

I don't agree with road rage but I can see why it happens. First off you were a little at fault here. The left lane is for passing, the right laneis for driving in. Even if your going 100mph in the left lane and somebody comes up on you it your your responsibility to get over to the right lane. I hate people that just stay in the left lane and drive there no matter what. People that don't get over should get a ticket and yes they can get one.

This happens to me quite a bit because if I'm not in one of my camaros, I'm driving Mrs.Daisy. I never go over the speed limit, after my 3rd ticket I just said "screw it, no more speeding" not worth the cost of the fine.
The worst is in heavy rain or snow, I stay in the right lane but still always some jerk off that thinks everyone should still do at least the speed limit even if the road is covered in white. Heck man I got a $40k truck last thing I want to do is wreck it from driving too fast in bad conditions.

Then you got all the bozos that think 4x4 will keep you from sliding on ice. lol get a clue folks its ice!

Seriously man I would have and do all the time but the light show with the high beams translated into "I'm soooo important that you Sir shall move out of my way and let me speed past you" even though he could have just pulled into the right lane and passed me with no obstructions. Trust me, I'm totally understanding that I was already breaking the law and prolly would have been better in the right lane anyway.

No biggie I'm sure he has a good story to tell his boyfriend.

I've been there, also DONE that.......so I understand your point, but Man, oh man, with so many crazy ass fools out there, it simply is not worth my time or the risk to my life to screw with someone on the road.

Another thing. I have a buddy that did just what you did......followed the guy for 5-10 miles. GUESS WHAT.......he ended up in JAIL......and it cost him dearly.

Not saying it is right or wrong, but definitely not worth it.

Totally understand what your saying. Im not in the habit of trying to tick folks off while driving but I was going with my instincts. I'm glad it worked out.

Usually when someone does me like that...I check out my seatbelt, stuff in the cab, see what might get tosses around and where...THEN stand on the brakes...... and pop them the bird. It does 2 things...IT GETS THEIR attention. They know by me popping them the bird I have watched Cool Hand Luke once or twice in my life...

And I have done this. Last time was Friday when I was driving back from Maysville on 68. Lady in a Chevy GTrailblazer was on my butt..Couldn't see here tailights she was so close. I speed up she'd do the same. I was actually on the phone with UpaCrick at the time. I told him to hold on, done my in cab prelaunch checklist, and then stood baby blue on it's nose...Once she picked up all her crap out of the floorboard and I know she was looking at me again I told her she was number one.,,,

Well I guess once wasn't enough for this bitch,,,Now granted if the oncoming traffic was so bad I would've let her around, but it was. And we had caught a long line of traffic up ahead so she couldn't pass me anyway. BUT<<<<she decided to ride my bumper again...JUst before we got to Millersburg there was a curve, I looked back, no tail lights...
This time I about planted my front bumper in the pavement....showed her she was numero uno again.....

She backed off to a safe distance all the way to Paris.....

Did I was this woman to wreck....YES! A good ditch line and a few mail boxes may have taught her to quit driving like Robby Gorden on a 5th of Beam. I'd rather her hit the ditch that pull out across the center line and plow some innocent sole head-on...
