I will be heading down to the Ohio River tomorrow. Falls of the Ohio to be exact. I will inform you then.
Fished Nolin two weeks ago. Put in at Wax and ran past Dog Creek. No fish but it was great to get out. I GPSed some spots and saw some exposed humps that really put the layout in perspective to how shallow some areas really are.
Went to Green the first weekend of this month, had a bite but nothing else. Went to KY River this past weekend and not even a sniff. Water was around 37 to 38 at both places. Did talk to a guy at the river that was catching sauger and white bass up at the lock on artificals. Seen too many floaters for me to make the run up river. I think the water needs to come up in temp a little before any kind of bite will be consistant. Just a couple more weeks guys and they will start moving a little getting ready for the spawn. I haven't felt a fish pull for several weeks and I'm about to go crazy.
Went to the ky river yesterday. Water was a nice green the creeks are crystal clear. There is some current but not as bad as I thought it might be, not sure about water temp didn't check. Fishing sucked went at hard for about nine hours and didn't get a bite. I would say sauger and whites around the damns might be happening but bassin aint.
I did some pond hopping in Louisville on Saturday; only found a couple of ponds not covered with ice. I fished for about an hour; no bites.
I figure after that rain comes in later in the week; it should warm up the water some and get them moving around. I would guess most of the ice I saw Saturday has melted with the warmer weather the last few days.
It has been a long cold winter. Louisville is far enough north for me.
The family and I went to Beshear and fished along the shore from the boat ramp towards the dam. It was pretty windy and we didn't catch anything, but we did see a bunch of floating threadfin shad(from the looks of it), some still kicking. There were a couple huge swaths of 1/2" inch ice and the kids got a kick out of seeing them smash into the docks.
heres my results from today...dnr told me yesterday lake was fine,no ice except for the creeks. get there this morning, main lake is patchy, ramps are iced in. had to drive around for an hour to 4 ramps to put in. got in,motor started then died. refused to work again. starter is screwed. trolled out ,had to break ice to go anywhere else. water 35 degrees. pretty much sums it up. should have stayed home and worked

We hit Nolin Sunday. Ice started party way between Moutardier and State and went all the way past State. Some patches going down the lake as well. We had two boats. Don't think the other boat got a bite. I had several bites and landed a chunk slot. If you were moving a gig at all, you were moving it too fast. Virticle jigging a flitter got a few hits swipes other than landing a bluegill. We saw quite a few dead and dying shad. Got a couple of hits on a gig and that's what I hooked up with the bass on. Pretty much putting it out there and shaking the rod tip, move it an inch or two and shake it some more.
Hit a 5 acre pond before dark. Fished a float and fly for the first time. Caught 3 nice 14 inch bass.
